A State Department event honoring the 46 Americans killed in Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, terror attacks in Israel is set to take place on Wednesday.

The event was previously scheduled for late September, but was postponed two days before it was set to take place. It is being planned in cooperation with the American Jewish Committee.

Wednesday’s commemoration event comes following efforts by family members of Americans killed and taken hostage on Oct. 7, including Ruby Chen, father of Itay Chen, to raise awareness about the Americans who were killed by Hamas.
