State Department postpones Oct. 7 memorial event
The event was scheduled to take place Sept. 30; plans for rescheduling remain unclear

Add JewishInsider on GoogleThe State Department on Monday postponed a memorial event for the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel that was scheduled for Sept. 30.
The memorial event, organized in collaboration with the American Jewish Committee and at the urging of the families of former American hostages held in Gaza, was set to focus on the 46 Americans killed on Oct. 7 and in Hamas custody in the years following the attack.
The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the reasons for the delay or when it plans to reschedule the event.
