Israel’s opposition leader, MK Isaac Herzog is expected to deliver a policy speech in New York a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will address the liberal Center for American Progress in DC.

According to a news release, Herzog will hold a roundtable conversation hosted by the Israeli Policy Forum next Wednesday, November 11th, at the offices of Jones Day, an international law firm, in Manhattan.

Herzog will be visiting the U.S. to attend the Jewish Federations of North America’s General Assembly in DC and will also be the keynote speaker at a special event at the United Nations on “The Battle for Zionism at the United Nations” – marking 40 years since the historic speech by former Israeli President Chaim Herzog, father of the current Labor/Zionist Union leader.

Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to speak at the Jewish Federation’s annual gathering on Tuesday, a day after meeting President Barack Obama in the oval office. He is also going to speak at the Center for American Progress in Washington, DC, in a move that is being labeled as a charm offensive campaign in the post-Iran deal era.

Israeli politicians have a rule not to criticize the prime minister on foreign soil. A spokesperson for Herzog did not immediately return a request for comment as to what the opposition leader will discuss at the roundtable in NY.

The last time, Netanyahu was in town, Yesh Atid chairperson Yair Lapid, one of Israel’s leading opposition leaders, spoke at the Israel Policy Forum.
