Christians United for Israel Orchestrates Fly-In on UNSC Resolution

WASHINGTON— In response to the United Nations Security Council resolution against Israel, Christian United for Israel (CUFI) is organizing a fly-in to Washington on Tuesday of 250 leaders. The lobbyist group will be petitioning Senators to support S. Resolution 6, which protests the UNSC 2234, along with a bill calling for the U.S. Embassy to be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

David Brog, Executive Director of CUFI, told Jewish Insider, “Our goal is to encourage the Senate to take concrete actions that will effectively counteract the UN resolution.”

Over 16,000 of CUFI’s members e-mailed their representatives within the first 24 hours, according to the Christian pro-Israel group.

During the meetings on Capitol Hill, CUFI will also be urging lawmakers to confirm David Friedman as the next U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Jewish liberal groups have promised to block Friedman’s nomination.

CUFI’s members “believed that the outgoing administration was doing great and possibly permanent damage to Israel and the peace process. They wanted to respond,” Brog emphasized.

With 3.3 million members, according to its website, the Christian lobbyist group has a significant base including over 1 million followers on Facebook, over eight times the number compared to AIPAC.
