Jonas to Host Fundraiser for Cruz

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz will be raking in some cash on the same day he addresses the Republican Jewish Coalition presidential forum in Washington, DC, on December 3rd, at a Jewish fundraiser in Englewood, NJ, according to an invite sent out by NORPAC.

The 1000-dollar-per-head fundraiser will take place Thursday night, Dec. 3rd. at the home of Elizabeth and Avi Samuels in Englewood, NJ.

NORPAC is a non-partisan political action committee whose primary purpose is to support candidates and sitting members of the Senate and House of Representatives who demonstrate a genuine commitment to the strength, security, and survival of Israel.

Other hosts include the PAC’s president Ben Chouake, Alan Berger, Ben and Batya Klein, Joshua and Shevy Rovner, Leslie Edelman, Yosef and Idit Agus, Rannan and Nicole Agus, Trudy and Stanley Stern, and Esther and Paul Lerer.

Howard Jonas, who held a fundraiser for Rubio at his home in Riverdale earlier this month, is also listed as a host. The fundraiser brought in $100,000 for Rubio’s presidential campaign, according to NJ Jewish News. Chouake told the publication that “Rubio showed a substantial command of the issues” and delivered “more of an optimistic message about his views rather than criticizing the president.”

Jonas, the CEO of Genie Energy, a company that is now drilling gas on the Golan Heights in Israel, hosted Cruz over for a Sabbath dinner earlier this year.

Cruz is in 3rd or 4th place in national and early primary states polls.
