Jewish Insider is hiring a Breaking News Video & Visual Associate to support our breaking news team with fast, high-quality video clips and visual assets.

This role requires strong news instincts and the ability to quickly identify compelling, newsworthy moments from speeches, press conferences and interviews. The ideal candidate understands what matters editorially, works efficiently under deadline pressure and ensures all visual content meets our standards for accuracy and clarity.

This position works closely with editors and reporters to enhance breaking coverage through timely video and visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Monitor live events, speeches and press appearances for newsworthy moments
• Clip and edit short-form video quickly for publication and social distribution
• Create simple graphics or visual assets to accompany breaking coverage
• Write accurate, clear captions and headlines for video content
• Ensure all visual content meets editorial and legal standards
• Coordinate with the breaking news editor on priorities and timing
• Support additional audience initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• Experience editing video for digital news or social platforms
• Strong news judgment and understanding of political coverage
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadline pressure
• Familiarity with U.S. politics, Israel and global affairs
• Proficiency with video editing software (Premiere, CapCut, Photoshop or similar tools)
• Clear, concise writing skills for captions and social posts
