Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Sunday touted his outstanding relationship with the creator of the world he now seeks to lead.

“I have a great relationship with God, Trump said during an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” program. “I have a very great relationship with God.”

Trump insisted that he has no need to ask God for forgiveness on sins that he might have committed in his life because he doesn’t do anything wrong. “I like to be good. I don’t like to have to ask for forgiveness,” he told host Jake Tapper. “And I am good, I don’t do a lot of things that are bad, I try and do nothing that’s bad. I live a very different life than probably a lot of people would think.

“Always or just now?” asked Tapper.

“I’m talking about over the last number of years, I’m leading a very good life. I try to lead a good life and I have,” Trump responded.
