Location: Washington, D.C.

About the role: JI is looking for a talented, hard-working reporter with strong initiative, good news judgment and a desire to tap into, and drive, the daily conversation in Washington and across the country.

Responsibilities: The Capitol Hill reporter will work alongside our other Washington, D.C., reporters to cover Congress with a major focus on covering Congressional politics. The job will also involve coverage of the 2024 presidential campaign and assistance with DC-focused news curation for the Daily Kickoff newsletter and other editorial products.

Qualifications: Prior journalism experience and/or an interest in politics recommended.  The ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments, excellent social skills and strong initiative are also essential. Digital skills, attention to detail and experience with newsletter production are a strong plus.
