Overview

Jewish Insider is seeking a Breaking News Reporter to join a new, fast-moving team focused on delivering timely, authoritative coverage of major developments in U.S. politics, Israel and global affairs.

This role requires speed, sound news judgment and the ability to write clearly under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate can quickly identify what matters, gather reliable information, and produce concise stories that inform our audience in real time.

Responsibilities

• Monitor news developments and identify stories that require immediate coverage
• Report and write breaking news quickly and accurately
• Develop reliable sourcing to confirm and advance stories
• File clean, concise copy under deadline pressure
• Update stories as developments unfold
• Coordinate closely with editors and teammates to ensure comprehensive coverage
• Adhere to Jewish Insider’s editorial standards and sourcing expectations
  

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of newsroom reporting experience
• Demonstrated ability to write accurately and quickly
• Strong news judgment and understanding of political coverage
• Familiarity with U.S. politics, Israel or related policy issues
• Ability to work flexible hours as news demands
• Clear, concise writing style
