Rep. Ted Lieu: “Strain of anti-Semitism” on Trump Team

WASHINGTON– “There is a strain of anti-Semitism among some of President Trump’s advisors. That is deeply troubling to me,” Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) said Tuesday morning on CSPAN’s Washington Journal program.

Lieu referenced the Trump administration’s controversial statement on Holocaust Remembrance Day last week. “It is very troubling on Holocaust Remembrance Day that the White House issues an entire statement without referencing Jews,” Lieu added. The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) and Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) — two groups who generally support Trump — issued statements rebuking the White House for its omission.

While noting that comparisons between the White House and Nazi Germany are “grossly over-exaggerated,” the California legislator compared the Trump Administration’s usage of “alternative facts” with other authoritarian regimes including Russia and North Korea.
