In the wake of the recent San Bernardino, Orlando attacks, the United States should start looking at racial profiling as a tool to prevent future terrorist attacks, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump suggested on Sunday.

“I think profiling is something that we’re going to have to start thinking about as a country,” Trump said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” program. “You know, I hate the concept of profiling. But we have to start using common sense and we have to use our heads. We really have to look at profiling. We have to look at it seriously.”

Trump cited Israel as a model: “You look at Israel and you look at others and they do it and they do it successfully.”

Last week, Trump re-upped his call for banning Muslim immigration to the United States in the aftermath of the Orlando nightclub attack. “Although the pause is temporary, we must find out what is going on,” Trump said. “We have to do it. It will be lifted, this ban, when as a nation we’re in a position to properly and perfectly screen these people coming into our country. They’re pouring in and we don’t know what we’re doing.”

The ban was also likened to Israel’s immigration policies by Trump’s supporter, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.
