Freed Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard met with members of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations on Monday for the first time in 30 years. However, he was reportedly not allowed to address the crowd in fear it would be leaked to the media and used against him as he faces strict parole conditions.

Congressmen Jerry Nadler and Eliot Engel also attended the event.

Pollard’s attorneys cautioned him that anything he may say at the event will be leaked and could be used against him, after the meeting and his expected keynote speech was leaked ahead of time to The Forward, Justice for Jonathan Pollard said on Monday.

Instead, his wife Esther delivered remarks on his behalf as Jonathan stood at her side. The Pollards unveiled a letter which was hand-delivered to President Barack Obama by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin during his visit to Washington, DC last month. The letter describes the current situation in which Pollard is not only prevented from working and from exercising his religious rights but also effectively prevents him from ever reintegrating into society.

According to Aaron Troodler, head of a PR group representing Justice for Jonathan Pollard, recent media reports that Jonathan has a new Shabbos observant GPS device was debunked by the Pollards as untrue.
